Seattle Bathroom Remodel
This cozy bathroom remodel in Seattle completely transformed a 1940s space into a modern,
elegant retreat. We replaced the old bathtub with a walk-in shower finished in marble-look tile
and black hexagon flooring, added a convenient shampoo niche, and installed sleek glass doors. The remodel also included a new wood vanity with a quartz countertop, fresh tile flooring, new lighting and fixtures, drywall touch-ups, and a complete paint refresh — turning a dated bathroom into a timeless, comfortable space.
What we did
1. Bathroom Demolition and Garbage Disposal
We removed the old bathtub, surround walls, flooring, vanity, toilet, and medicine cabinet,
ensuring the space was fully cleared for the new layout and design. We disposed all the garbage related to the project.
Benefits:
Eliminated all outdated materials and potential water damage, allowing a clean foundation for
the new shower and fixtures while ensuring a smoother installation process.
2. Drywall Installation and Texturing
We installed new drywall where needed, repaired damaged areas, and applied smooth, consistent
texture to both walls and ceilings.
Benefits:
Created clean, flawless surfaces for painting and cabinetry, improved insulation, and provided a modern finished look.
3. Plumbing Installation and Upgrades
We installed new plumbing lines for the walk-in shower, toilet, and vanity, ensuring proper
water pressure and alignment for all new fixtures.
Benefits:
Improved water flow, reduced risk of future leaks, and ensured long-term reliability — a crucial step for any high-quality bathroom remodel.
4. Tile Prep and Waterproofing
We prepped the shower walls with HydroBoard, waterproofed with a professional-grade sealant,
and built the shower pan bedding using a sand mix sealed with Schluter Kerdi membrane. The bathroom floor was prepped with ¼” Fiberock board for added stability.
Benefits:
Provided superior moisture protection, increased tile adhesion, and created a solid, durable base for long-lasting tile performance.
5. Tile Installation
We installed 12×24 marble-look ceramic tiles on the shower walls, curb, and bathroom floor, complemented by matte black hexagon tiles on the shower pan and shampoo niche. Everything was grouted with Delorean Gray Prism grout and sealed with matching 100% silicone.
Benefits:
Delivers a luxurious, cohesive design that’s both easy to maintain and visually stunning. The contrast between marble and black tile gives this bathroom a timeless, high-end look.
6. Finish Work and Vanity Installation
We installed PVC baseboards, an Ariel American Oak solid wood vanity, and topped it with a 1.5-inch Edge Carrara White Quartz countertop.
Benefits:
Combines durability with style, adds storage and warmth through natural wood elements, and enhances the overall elegance of the space.
7. Painting and Finishing Touches
We completed the bathroom transformation with a full interior paint refresh. This included prepping and painting all walls, the ceiling, and baseboards using high-quality moisture-resistant paint designed specifically for bathrooms. Every surface was properly sanded, primed, and finished to achieve smooth, even coverage.
Benefits:
Creates a clean, polished look that enhances the brightness of the space, protects surfaces from humidity and everyday wear, and adds the final touch to complete this elegant bathroom remodel.
8. Fixtures and Lighting Installation
We installed a modern light fixture, LED medicine cabinet, towel warmer, and Delta shower and vanity trims — all selected for quality and modern design.
Benefits:
Improves everyday convenience, enhances lighting and comfort, and ties the entire bathroom together with matching finishes and functionality.
