Maple Valley Master Bathroom Remodel
We completed a full master bathroom remodel in Maple Valley, WA, transforming a space with a leaking shower and outdated design into a modern, spa-like retreat. The old shower, tile, tub, and vanity were fully removed. In their place, we installed a curbless walk-in shower, freestanding tub, custom oak wood vanity, and matte black fixtures for a sleek, timeless finish. Every detail—from plumbing and tile work to drywall, paint, and final fixtures—was carefully handled to ensure quality and longevity.
What we did
1. Bathroom Demolition
We started by removing all existing elements, including the old shower, glass, tiled floor, tub, vanity, and fixtures. This allowed us to rebuild the bathroom from the ground up and address all previous water damage.
Benefits:
Creates a clean foundation for proper waterproofing, eliminates hidden moisture issues, and ensures a longer-lasting, problem-free remodel.
2. Plumbing
Replaced all existing water lines with durable PEX-A piping, installed a new shower system,
freestanding tub, and matching faucets. Finished by installing all matte black trims and fixtures.
Benefits:
Improves water flow and reliability, reduces the risk of future leaks, and ensures the entire plumbing system meets modern standards.
3. Framing
Reinforced several joists under the shower area under the supervision of a structural engineer. Framed the curbless shower and extended the built-in shampoo niche for additional storage.
Benefits:
Increases structural integrity, ensures safe installation of the curbless shower system, and adds practical storage without compromising style.
4. Drywall
Installed new Sheetrock, taped, mudded, and textured all areas for a smooth and clean finish, preparing the walls for tile and paint.
Benefits:
Provides a perfect foundation for tile and paint, ensuring a flawless surface and long-lasting
results.Provided superior moisture protection, increased tile adhesion, and created a solid, durable base for long-lasting tile performance.
5. Prep for Tile
Installed Schluter Ditra 1/8” membrane for the bathroom floor and waterproofed it using Schluter tape. Built the shower system with a Schluter shower pan and Kerdi waterproofing. The shower walls were built with foam board and sealed with silicone.
Benefits:
Guarantees full waterproofing, prevents mold and moisture buildup, and extends the life of the tile installation.
6. Tile Installation
Installed 12×24 porcelain tiles on the bathroom floor, 2×8 Spanish gray tiles on the shower walls, and hexagon tiles for the shower pan. Finished with tile baseboards for a seamless, modern look.
Benefits:
Delivers a durable, stylish, and easy-to-maintain surface that enhances both the appearance and value of the bathroom.
7. Painting
Painted all walls, ceilings, doors, and trims using high-quality moisture-resistant paint, ensuring a clean and cohesive finish throughout.
Benefits:
Brightens and refreshes the space while protecting surfaces from humidity and wear.
8. Vanity Installation
Installed a oak wood double-sink vanity with a quartz countertop and modern undermount sinks.
Benefits:
Combines natural warmth with modern design, offering durability, storage, and a timeless aesthetic.
9. Bathroom Fixtures
Installed new mirrors, vanity lights, towel holders, and accessories—all in matte black finish to complement the overall design.
Benefits:
Unifies the design, adds elegance and contrast, and ensures all finishes align with the client’s modern vision.
