Seattle Tiled Shower & Bathtub Surround
This complete bathroom renovation in Seattle transformed an outdated shower and bathtub area into a modern, spa-like retreat. We removed the old finishes, installed new waterproofing systems, upgraded plumbing with Kohler fixtures, and added elegant green subway tile in two distinct patterns — a straight vertical layout for the shower and a herringbone layout for the bathtub surround. The project was finished with marble hexagon shower flooring, a sleek linear drain, and 3/8-inch clear shower glass — bringing both luxury and precision craftsmanship to life.
What we did
1. Demolition and Garbage Disposal
We demolished the old shower walls, pan, and glass enclosure, removing all damaged framing beneath. The old bathtub and tile surround were also fully removed and disposed of properly.

2. Plumbing Installation and Upgrades
We installed a linear Schluter drain for the shower and fitted a complete Kohler shower system. For the bathtub, we installed a new Kohler tub and coordinated plumbing lines to support the new drain and Kohler rain shower system with a handheld sprayer.

3. Tile Prep and Waterproofing
The shower walls were prepped with cement board and waterproofed using Laticrete Hydro Ban, one of the most trusted products in the industry. The shower pan was built with a sand mix base and sealed with a Schluter Kerdi membrane. For the bathtub surround, we installed cement boards on the walls and waterproofed them with Hydro Ban as well.

4. Tile Installation
We installed 2×8 modern green subway tiles in a vertical straight layout in the shower, paired with a marble hexagon shower pan. Brushed gold Schluter metal trims were used to match the Kohler fixtures. The bathtub surround featured the same green tile, installed in a precise herringbone pattern for a bold visual statement. Matching grout and 100% color-matched silicone were used to seal all joints and corners.

5. Shower Glass and Trim Finishing
